Medallion Metals Limited (ASX: MM8) has cleared the final hurdle to move its Ravensthorpe Gold Project into the construction phase. The company confirmed it has secured the necessary regulatory approvals, specifically the Mining Development and Closure Plan and a Section 45C amendment to its existing ministerial statement. These authorizations provide the statutory framework required for the developer to initiate physical ground works and advance its integrated production platform.

The successful permitting marks a transition in the project’s lifecycle, moving from planning and regulatory engagement to active onsite execution. With the permitting pathway now entirely resolved, the company is set to begin immediate development activities. This includes the start of underground mine development at the Kundip Mining Centre, as well as the necessary modifications and commissioning work required at the Cosmic Boy Concentrator to process material from the site.

"Securing these key regulatory approvals is a significant milestone for Medallion and completes the regulatory pathway required to execute our production strategy." — Paul Bennett, Managing Director

The company has maintained a defined execution schedule that outlines the sequence of its path to commercial production. Operational focus now shifts toward meeting the upcoming milestones set for the remainder of the calendar year and into 2027. Management indicated that the immediate priority remains the implementation of its Early Production Strategy, which is slated to begin in the third quarter of 2026. This initiative serves as a core component of the broader development timeline, designed to bridge the gap between initial site development and steady-state operations.

Looking further ahead, the company continues to work toward delivering its first ore to the processing facility. Following the early production efforts, the development plan remains on track, with the first delivery of ore from Ravensthorpe to the Cosmic Boy Concentrator currently targeted for the second quarter of 2027. By finalizing the regulatory process, the company believes it is now well-positioned to commit resources fully to these development objectives. The board has confirmed that project development activities will proceed in alignment with the published internal schedule as the team focuses on achieving these operational targets. With the environmental and statutory foundations secured, the company aims to maintain its momentum in transitioning from a developer to an active participant in the regional gold sector, emphasizing disciplined execution throughout the upcoming phases of site refurbishment and underground mine construction as the project approaches its maiden production date.
