Metal Hawk Limited (ASX: MHK) has confirmed the commencement of a new reverse circulation drilling campaign at its Leinster South project in Western Australia. This latest round of exploration is designed to build upon previous high-grade gold intercepts, specifically targeting the Thylacine and Tysons prospects to better define the mineralisation across the site.

The drilling program will focus heavily on the Thylacine prospect, where prior work highlighted significant shallow gold discoveries. Among these, drill hole LSD005 returned 2.3 metres at 15.3 grams per tonne of gold, including a higher-grade interval of 0.9 metres at 29.9 grams per tonne. Other notable results from the area include intercepts of 3 metres at 9.8 grams per tonne and 8 metres at 3.2 grams per tonne. The company is now deploying a rig to test the extent of these zones, with a particular interest in the Thylacine south area.

Beyond the Thylacine area, Metal Hawk is extending its exploration to the Tysons prospect. This part of the campaign is aimed at investigating a major regional structure and a key granite-greenstone contact, which the team believes could host further gold mineralisation.

The company anticipates that the current RC drilling campaign will take approximately two to three weeks to complete. Following the conclusion of field activities, the laboratory assay results are expected to be available in four to six weeks. These upcoming data releases will be crucial in determining the next steps for the project as the explorer works to define the broader geological footprint of the gold system identified within its holdings. The board has authorised this work as part of its ongoing push to evaluate the economic potential of the Agnew-Lawlers region asset.
