Metals Creek Resources Corp. and partner Benton Resources Inc. have identified four new hydrogen and helium soil gas anomalies across the Smoking Gun and Parson's Pond projects in Western Newfoundland.

The two regional soil gas programs involved collecting 710 samples over a two-week period, with analyses covering hydrogen, helium, neon, carbon dioxide, and C1-C4 hydrocarbons.

At the Parson's Pond project within the Parson's Pond Basin, the soil sampling returned hydrogen concentrations reaching up to 900 parts per million in the central portion of the property. Sampling around the Parson's Pond Lake area presented operational challenges due to wet and shallow bedrock conditions, limiting the program to 20 samples. However, a significant percentage of those samples contained anomalous hydrogen concentrations, including a location on an island where soils yielded more than 400 parts per million hydrogen, aligning with historical notes of subsurface gas bubbling.

At the Smoking Gun project in the Deer Lake sedimentary basin, the soil gas program outlined two broad anomalies with hydrogen values up to 600 parts per million and helium values up to 7.7 parts per million. Several hydrogen sample clusters at both properties exhibit a spatial association with historical wells that previously encountered high-pressure gas.

Project co-developer Benton staked seven new claims near the projects between June and September 2026. Additionally, Metals Creek acquired a 100-percent interest in further property claims at Smoking Gun and Parson's Pond through a purchase agreement with G2B Gold requiring common share issuances and a two-percent net smelter royalty.

Alongside Parson's Pond and Smoking Gun, Metals Creek holds five other active hydrogen-focused properties across Newfoundland, including Bay St. George, Bay of Islands, Bond Pond, Cape St. Gregory, and the Deer Lake Basin.

Following the compilation and evaluation of the current soil gas data, Metals Creek and Benton plan to design an inaugural drill program to test favourable targets for natural hydrogen and helium within the Deer Lake Basin.
