Metalsource Mining Launches Expansion Drilling at Silver Hill
Metalsource Mining Inc. has commenced a new phase of drilling at its Silver Hill Project in North Carolina, focusing on strike and down-plunge extensions of the highest-grade polymetallic mineralization identified to date.
The program targets the area surrounding hole SH26-07, which previously returned 12.62 metres grading 3,786 g/t silver equivalent, including a 2.74-metre interval grading 16,604 g/t silver equivalent. This high-grade intercept also contained 209.1 g/t gold, alongside significant silver, lead, and zinc.
The company is constructing additional drill platforms west of the current area to test the interpreted deep extension of the system. While this infrastructure work is underway, drilling will shift to the eastern portion of the system to evaluate the up-dip extension of the mineralization defined by SH26-07. These step-out holes are intended to refine the geological model and improve understanding of the continuity between SH26-07 and other successful drill holes.
Metalsource is actively transitioning the Silver Hill project from a historic production site into a modern, systematically explored polymetallic district. This dual-track strategy involves a second drill rig dedicated to evaluating new district-scale targets generated from a recently completed property-wide induced polarization survey.
“One of the advantages of a successful exploration program is that each drill hole makes the next one more intelligent. Over the past several months we've significantly improved our understanding of the geological controls at Silver Hill, and we're now applying that knowledge by deliberately targeting the highest grade mineralization identified to date.”
— Joe Cullen, Chief Executive Officer
The current exploration campaign is designed to systematically expand the known footprint of the system in preparation for an inaugural mineral resource estimate, which the company is targeting for early 2027.
