Mineral Road Discovery Inc. has engaged UK-based natural resources consultant Bill Murphy, Principal of Murphy Resource Consultants, to undertake a strategic review of its Bergslagen Tungsten Project in Sweden, shifting the project toward a formal evaluation of its development potential.

The review will focus on the development potential of the significant historical surface tailings opportunity alongside the broader hard-rock tungsten potential at the project. Mineral Road acquired the asset in May 2025 through an agreement covering eight historical mineral concessions near Ludvika, positioning the Swedish project within an established European mining jurisdiction.

The Bergslagen property is centred on the historic Yxsjöberg tungsten mining district, which contains substantial historical tailings, extensive underground workings and a significant body of historical geological and exploration records. The company is evaluating a staged development approach for the project, progressing sequentially from surface tailings to shallow hard-rock mineralisation and ultimately to deeper underground mineralisation.

The historical surface tailings represent the company's most immediate development focus. Because this material has already been mined and sits at surface, Mineral Road intends to undertake additional drilling, sampling and metallurgical test work to establish the quantity, grade, mineralogy and recoverability of the contained tungsten and associated minerals. The objective is to determine whether the tailings can support a commercially viable reprocessing operation and establish the technical basis for a future resource estimate and scoping-level economic assessment.

Beyond the tailings, historical exploration has identified shallow tungsten mineralisation in the Kvarnåsen area. The company is reviewing this data to assess whether near-surface mineralisation could be developed without initially relying on the rehabilitation of historical underground workings, potentially serving as an intermediate source of ore between the surface material and the deeper system.

The strategic review comes as tungsten and other critical minerals receive increasing attention from governments and industry regarding economic security and the energy transition, with the European Union classifying tungsten as both a Critical Raw Material and a Strategic Raw Material under the EU Critical Raw Materials Act.
