Miramar Resources Reports High-Grade Results at Chain Pool
Miramar Resources Limited (ASX: M2R) has reported further high-grade rock chip results from the Chain Pool project in Western Australia’s Gascoyne region. The samples, collected during a recent auger drilling campaign at the Joy Helen prospect, returned grades up to 6.72% copper and 47.8% lead, confirming the presence of significant base metal mineralisation.
These findings represent an advancement in the company’s target validation process. Following the late June 2026 announcement, which identified specific gravity anomalies, these new surface samples provide physical confirmation of mineralisation located near interpreted basin-margin faults. Miramar believes these structural settings, combined with strongly anomalous barium values in certain samples, point toward the potential for a larger, Sedimentary Exhalative (SEDEX) style deposit.
"The Chain Pool Project has all the key ingredients for the formation of a large base metal deposit, including the right age, geology and structural settings, along with evidence of high-grade Cu-Pb-Ag mineralisation at Joy Helen."
— Marion Bush, Managing Director
The explorer is currently awaiting the remaining assay results from its recently completed auger drilling programme, which are expected in mid-July 2026. Once received, the company plans to integrate these findings with existing gravity data to design a passive seismic survey and its first dedicated bedrock drilling campaign at the project.
Beyond its Gascoyne activities, the company is currently reviewing drilling data from its 100%-owned Gidji JV gold project to define potential shallow resources. Subject to the outcome of this data review, Miramar intends to apply for a Mining Lease to support potential future development at that site. The current focus remains on advancing these exploration targets through systematic data collection and refined geological modelling.
