Moonlight Resources Hits 24m at 1.22 g/t Gold as Phase 2 Drilling Expands Leo Grande Over 1km Strike
Moonlight Resources has intersected broad gold mineralisation across more than 1km of strike at the Leo Grande prospect within its flagship Clermont Gold Project in Queensland, supported by the latest assay results from its completed Phase 2 reverse circulation drilling programme.
The third batch of assay results comprises 37 holes covering 6,126 metres across the Leo Grande Central, South and North areas. Standout intersections from Leo Grande Central include hole LGRC113, which returned 24 metres at 1.22 g/t gold from 87 metres, including 9 metres at 1.28 g/t gold from 92 metres and 2 metres at 4.47 g/t gold from 105 metres. Hole LGRC130 yielded 19 metres at 1.95 g/t gold from 99 metres, including 6 metres at 2.29 g/t gold from 113 metres, while hole LGRC186 intersected 19 metres at 1.36 g/t gold from 142 metres, including 1 metre at 8.39 g/t gold from 157 metres.
Drilling at Leo Grande South and initial holes at Leo Grande North intersected the projected continuation of the mineralised Leo Grande Shear Zone, extending the recognised system beyond the central area. Systematic drilling at the flagship Clermont asset commenced in late 2025.
“The Phase 2 RC programme has materially advanced our understanding of Leo Grande. What began as a programme to validate historical drilling has now successfully demonstrated a coherent gold- bearing shear system that extends unconstrained over more than 1km of strike, with Leo Grande Central continuing to deliver broad and locally higher-grade mineralisation.”
— Greg Starr, Managing Director
Phase 2 reverse circulation drilling at Leo Grande is now complete. Moonlight Resources plans to execute a short diamond drilling programme to provide additional structural and geological control ahead of delivering a maiden Mineral Resource Estimate. Exploration activity is also active across the broader project area, with drilling programmes underway at the Goldfinger gold prospect and Peak Downs copper prospect.
