Mountain Province Diamonds Inc. has announced that Chief Financial Officer Steven Thomas will step down on September 1, 2026, to pursue other opportunities. Thomas will assist the company in an advisory role through the transition process.

The departure marks another key leadership change for the company following the resignation of Mark Wall in November 2025 and an interim period where Chairman Jonathan Comerford served as acting President and CEO.

Chairman Jonathan Comerford credited the outgoing executive for his tenure guiding the business through operational shifts.

“Steve has made a significant contribution to Mountain Province over the past four years and has helped guide the Company through a period of considerable change and challenge. He has been a highly professional and dedicated member of the leadership team, and I would like to personally thank him for his support and commitment. We are pleased that he will continue to assist the Company during the transition period, and we wish him every success in the next chapter of his career.”

— Jonathan Comerford, Chairman

Mountain Province holds a 49% interest alongside De Beers Canada in the Gahcho Kué diamond mine in Canada's Northwest Territories.
