Nelson Resources Limited has lodged a Notice of Intent to collect an initial bulk sample of up to 1,000 short tons of remnant mineralised material from the historic Orleans Mine at its Gold Point Project in Nevada.

The proposed work is designed to generate bulk-scale metallurgical data under controlled conditions, complementing laboratory testwork already underway at Kappes, Cassiday & Associates in Reno. Previous metallurgical work utilised four 20kg composite samples submitted to the laboratory; the current announcement scales up testing to a bulk sample of up to 1,000 short tons of remnant material from the Orleans Mine.

The program aims to evaluate process response, quantify gold and silver recoveries across remnant grade profiles, and compare higher-grade and lower-grade material. Nelson has previously completed underground rehabilitation at the historic Orleans Mine within the Gold Point Project and initiated a maiden underground drilling program.

A sample of up to 1,000 tons sits at the Bureau of Land Management Notice-level threshold. Nelson Resources is awaiting approval of its submitted Notice of Intent and financial guarantee for the metallurgical bulk sample at the Orleans Mine within the Gold Point Project. Any larger sample would require a Plan of Operations, which the company is preparing.

Extraction will not commence until the Notice of Intent is approved and the bond is in place. Processing through a third-party commercial mill will not begin until a facility and campaign window are confirmed. The work does not constitute a decision to mine or commence commercial production.

Operationally, the company intends to stockpile and process higher-grade and lower-grade remnant lots separately to address grade variability across the Orleans stopes.
