Nelson Resources Observes Copper Oxide Mineralisation at Southern Gold Point
Nelson Resources Limited has observed copper oxide mineralisation in dump and float material at the Gold Point Project in Nevada, USA, sitting approximately 1.5 kilometres east of the Le Champ porphyry target within the Sylvania Intrusive Complex.
The newly identified mineralisation is dominated by chrysocolla with subordinate malachite and chalcocite. Field teams also noted narrow bornite-chalcopyrite veinlets in outcrop within historical workings adjacent to the dump piles.
Nelson previously completed Controlled Source Audio-frequency Magnetotellurics geophysical surveys across 3.57 line-kilometres at the project to help define structural corridors and vein extensions.
A first-pass multi-element soil sampling program is currently underway across the southern licence area. The program consists of lines spaced 200 metres apart with samples collected every 50 metres, designed to evaluate both the copper-molybdenum-gold porphyry system and intrusion-hosted sheeted quartz veins. Representative dump and float samples have been submitted to ALS Minerals in Reno for multi-element assay.
Assay results from both the soil sampling program and the representative dump and float samples are expected within six to eight weeks.
"The observation of extensive chrysocolla-rich copper oxide mineralisation in dump and float material roughly one and a half kilometres east of the Le Champ target is a useful addition to the copper story at Gold Point. It sits within the same Sylvania Intrusive Complex that already hosts high-grade gold-silver 1 Visual estimates of mineral abundance should never be considered a proxy or substitute for laboratory analyses where concentrations or grades are the factor of principal economic interest. Visual estimates also potentially provide no information regarding impurities or deleterious physical properties relevant to valuations. Samples have been submitted for multi-element laboratory assay; results are expected in 6-8 weeks.
veins and previously reported copper values up to 4.88% Cu. The systematic soil program now underway will map the multi-element footprint across both the copper and gold-silver targets and help us prioritise the next phase of work in a disciplined way."

Meanwhile, regional exploration activity continues to advance across the surrounding district, where Athena Gold Corporation reported reverse circulation drill intercepts including 22.9 metres at 1.37 g/t gold at the Excelsior Springs project.
