New Hope Corporation Limited delivered group saleable coal production of 11,518 thousand tonnes for the 2026 financial year, an increase from 10,708 thousand tonnes in the previous period.

Proudly exceeding the upper end of guidance ranges, production and coal sales were supported by the ongoing ramp-up of the New Acland Mine and a strong second-half performance at the Bengalla Mine following weather disruptions in fiscal 2025. Group underlying EBITDA reached $514.3 million, compared with $765.8 million in the 2025 financial year, while net profit after tax totalled $161.0 million down from $439.4 million. The lower earnings reflected heightened costs from increased prime overburden movement and higher plant depreciation.

“The 2026 financial year saw strong operational performance across the Group. Both Bengalla Mine and New Acland Mine met or exceeded guidance ranges.”

“The successful recovery of Bengalla Mine following the weather and logistics challenges experienced in the 2025 financial year, together with the continued ramp-up of New Acland Mine Stage 3, demonstrates the quality and resilience of our asset portfolio.”

— Rob Bishop, Chief Executive Officer

Exploration activities across Bengalla's Mining Leases and adjoining Exploration Licences added 262 million tonnes to total coal resources, lifting underground resources to 100 million tonnes and identifying 238 million tonnes of open-cut resources. Pre-feasibility study works continue on assessing the potential continuation of the Bengalla operation beyond current approvals.

At the New Acland operation, Stage 3 ramp-up activities advanced during the period. Access to the Manning Vale West pit is scheduled for the final quarter of calendar year 2026.

Supported by operating cash flows of $564.1 million and available cash of $778.5 million as at 31 July 2026, the board declared a fully franked final dividend of 30.0 cents per ordinary share. During the period, New Hope issued $300 million in senior unsecured convertible notes due 2032 to repurchase $293.3 million principal amount of existing notes due 2029. The company also increased its equity interest in Malabar Resources Limited by 3.00 per cent to 25.97 per cent, enhancing participation in the Maxwell Underground Mine ramp-up.
