New Pacific Metals Corp. has filed an independent preliminary economic assessment technical report for the Carangas project located in the Oruro Department of Bolivia, formalizing the updated project economics and mine plan released to the market in July 2026.

The technical report, titled "Carangas Project: NI 43-101 Technical Report and Preliminary Economic Assessment, Oruro, Bolivia," was prepared by Ausenco Engineering Canada ULC with an effective date of July 16, 2026. New Pacific Metals confirmed that the filed document contains no material differences from the preliminary economic assessment results previously announced.

The technical filing captures a substantial scale upgrade compared to earlier baseline studies. The initial preliminary economic assessment for Carangas released in October 2024 projected a 16-year life of mine producing approximately 106 million ounces of payable silver, underpinned by a post-tax net present value at a five percent discount rate of $501 million and initial capital expenditure of $324 million.

Following a throughput expansion and the incorporation of the underlying bulk gold zone, the updated technical report outlines a 19-year life of mine producing 339 million ounces of silver equivalent. The revised parameters elevate the post-tax net present value to $2.65 billion, while initial capital costs increase to $644.5 million to support the expanded processing infrastructure.

New Pacific Metals is actively advancing two permitting-stage precious metals projects in Bolivia. While the Silver Sand project in Potosí has the potential to become one of the world's largest silver mines, the Carangas silver-gold project in Oruro strengthens the wider corporate portfolio through scale, robust economics, and regional exploration potential.

The advancement of Carangas relies on several upcoming regulatory and operational milestones. Key catalysts include the submission and approval of the application to convert exploration licenses to administrative mining contracts with the Plurinational Legislative Assembly.

Broader macroeconomic conditions show strong support for precious metals. Silver traded at $64.75 per ounce, reflecting an 11.74% increase over the 30-day period ending August 14, 2026.
