Nexcel Metals Corp. has commenced a core relogging and resampling program at its Burnt Hill Tungsten Project in central New Brunswick, targeting 26 historical diamond drill holes totaling 5,687 metres.

The historical core, drilled in 1979 by Miramichi Lumber Company Ltd., is stored at the New Brunswick government core storage facility in Madran. Past sampling was restricted to whole-core intervals of tungsten-bearing veins. This left sediment-hosted and thinly veined intervals unassayed, presenting an untested opportunity for the company. Nexcel initially plans to relog and sample five drill holes in their entirety to validate historical data, with remaining holes ranked by potential resource impact and spatial distribution.

An independent geological consulting firm is completing geostatistical analyses, including spatial pairing and classification spacing studies, to prepare the project for an eventual independent mineral resource estimate. Nexcel holds the property as its flagship asset, with Phase 1 drilling expected to commence later this month.
