NexGold Mining Corp. has commenced site preparation and early works construction activities at its flagship Goldboro Gold Project in Nova Scotia, moving the development closer to a potential construction decision.

The preliminary activities are designed to de-risk full-scale construction by establishing sediment and erosion controls, clearing trees for the employee accommodations facility and stockpiles, building elements of a public-access bypass road, and mobilizing site services contractors. NexGold has engaged the Mi’kma’ki-Municipal Limited Partnership to execute the early works.

"Commencing early works construction activities at Goldboro is a significant milestone for the Project and reflects the culmination of years of planning and development. We are also proud of our work with the Mi’kma’ki-Municipal Limited Partnership, which demonstrates our ongoing commitment to sustainable development, collaboration with the Mi’kmaq people of Nova Scotia, and investment in local communities."

— Kevin Bullock, President, CEO & Director

The project’s major federal and provincial permits are in place, following final federal Fisheries Act Authorizations in November 2025 and provincial Industrial Approval in August 2025. Ahead of the early works, NexGold completed an expanded 40,000-metre reverse circulation infill drilling program targeting the planned west and east pits.

The board’s final construction decision is anticipated during the fourth quarter of 2026. If full-scale construction receives board approval, work is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2027.
