Nico Resources Limited has commenced a reverse circulation infill drilling program at its Wingellina nickel-cobalt project in Western Australia, moving ahead with operational plans funded by a $3.73 million share placement completed in January 2026.

The active campaign involves 94 holes targeting approximately 6,062 metres of drilling across the South Domain of the orebody. The work is designed to establish a staggered 50 by 25-metre grid over the main mineralisation zones and improve local geological and grade variability understanding, particularly within high-grade areas.

In conjunction with the drilling, the company is scoping out a program to collect downhole density data from at least 10 to 15 per cent of the drillholes. This information is required to provide a better local estimate of tonnages within the regolith and support the conversion of currently Indicated Resources to the Measured category.

While the January 2026 placement announcement flagged initial intentions to begin infill drilling without specifying exact meterage, the current program translates those funding objectives into an active field operation.

Nico Resources plans to conduct a subsequent staged update of the Wingellina Mineral Resource Estimate to upgrade resource classifications, which will facilitate more effective mine and process planning for the globally significant deposit.
