Nine Mile Metals Confirms Continued Mineralization at the Wedge Deposit
Nine Mile Metals Ltd. (NINE) has reported the completion of drill hole WD-26-03 at its flagship Wedge project in New Brunswick. The program, designed to test the extension of the past-producing mine, successfully intersected massive sulphide mineralization between 212.95 and 338.20 meters. A core highlight of the intercept includes a 2.40-meter true width section containing 40–50% pyrite and 4–7% chalcopyrite. This latest hole follows previous drilling efforts aimed at building a comprehensive 3D model of the deposit, which historically produced 1.5 million tonnes of copper ore before closing in 1968.
The technical team identified distinct geological signatures during the drilling process, including a chloritic footwall zone accompanied by pyrite, which is a known indicator of volcanic massive sulphide (VMS) systems. The hole also encountered traces of arsenopyrite, a mineral often used as a pathfinder for gold. The company is currently processing the data as part of its ongoing efforts to update its NI 43-101 technical reporting.
"Across two seasons of drilling at the Wedge, every completed hole has intersected sulphide mineralization, and the first three holes of this program alone have delivered nearly 490 meters of mineralized core."
"Watching the deepest hole we have reported at the Wedge intersect massive sulphides well below our first two holes is that thesis playing out in real time - we could not have scripted a stronger start to the season."

Nine Mile Metals utilizes advanced exploration techniques, including UAV drone-based geophysics and AI-assisted data reprocessing, to navigate the Bathurst Mining Camp. This district, which has historically hosted more than 45 known VMS deposits, remains challenging for explorers due to limited outcropping; the company reports that less than 1% of the local deposits are visible at surface. The exploration strategy currently focuses on validating the thesis that the majority of the original Wedge deposit remains in the ground, open at depth.
Following the core logging and measurement process at the company’s Bathurst warehouse, samples from this hole are being prepared for shipment to ALS Global in Moncton for comprehensive base and precious metal analysis. Lab assay results are expected to be released throughout the remainder of the season as the 10,000-meter drill program continues. The company continues to refine its geological understanding by fanning holes across the north flank of the deposit, directly integrating all new core information into its 3D modeling work to improve future targeting. The completion of this hole marks a significant operational step in assessing the deeper potential of the project.
