Noble Plains Hits 12 ft at 0.142% eU3O8 in Shirley Central Drilling
Noble Plains Uranium Corp. has intersected uranium mineralization in all seven holes of a confirmation drill program at its Shirley Central project in Wyoming’s Shirley Basin, verifying historical data compiled from more than 1,211 previous holes.
The 30-unpatented-claim property covers 665 acres and sits directly adjacent to Ur-Energy Inc.’s Shirley Basin ISR operation and is also bordered by Uranium Energy Corp. The seven vertical holes tested northern and southern claim blocks, confirming roll-front uranium systems within the Upper, Main, and Lower Sands of the Wind River Formation.
Highlights from the program include hole 26-17-06, drilled north of Ur-Energy's Area 5 deposit, which returned 12 feet grading 0.142% equivalent uranium (eU3O8), including a higher-grade 2-foot interval of 0.389% eU3O8. Hole 26-03-03 returned 39.5 feet of 0.022% eU3O8, along with a separate 7-foot interval of 0.093% eU3O8 that included 2 feet of 0.208% eU3O8.
Additional intercepts in the southern block included hole 26-03-02 with 23 feet of 0.043% eU3O8, and hole 26-03-04 returning 5.5 feet of 0.073% eU3O8, including 2 feet of 0.160% eU3O8. In the northern block, hole 26-17-05 intersected 4 feet of 0.026% eU3O8, while hole 26-17-07 returned 2.5 feet of 0.017% eU3O8.
Ur-Energy is a shareholder of Noble Plains and has signed a non-binding letter of intent to potentially process future Shirley Central production at its facilities. Nearby operator Ur-Energy received final WDEQ authorization to advance its Shirley Basin uranium project to full-scale ISR operations within the surrounding district in June 2026.
With modern data now validated against the historical record, Noble Plains aims to advance Shirley Central toward an initial mineral resource estimate under National Instrument 43-101 standards, following a similar brownfield-conversion path used at its Duck Creek project.
