NordX Metals has confirmed shallow uranium mineralization at its Riutta project in eastern Finland, following a resampling program of historical drill core.

The strongest result originated from the Ristimonttu prospect, where drill hole AREVA DH1 intersected 11.3 metres grading 0.68% uranium oxide (U3O8) starting at a depth of 21.2 metres. The interval includes a higher-grade sub-section of 3.7 metres at 1.52% U3O8, with an estimated true thickness of 8.6 metres. In addition to uranium, the company identified anomalous copper and silver grades within the sampled intervals, returning values up to 0.45% copper and 46g/t silver.

The resampling program targeted historical core from past exploration campaigns conducted between 1958 and 2009. NordX geologists processed the core at the Geological Survey of Finland’s archive in Rovaniemi before assaying the samples at an independent laboratory using four-acid digestion.

Following these results, the company plans to commence follow-up exploration activities at the site. Future work at the project includes both exploration and permitting programs.
