North Stawell Minerals Ltd has intersected high-grade gold mineralisation at its Darlington Prospect in Victoria, Australia, returning 0.4 metres at 17.1 g/t Au from 98.6 metres in diamond drill hole NSD062.

The new intercept lies more than 70 metres north of a previously reported high-grade intercept in hole NSD057. The target mineralised trend remains open for approximately 850 metres to the south, at least 200 metres to the north, and at depth.

"Diamond drill hole NSD062 extends high-grade mineralisation more than 70m to the north of a previously reported high-grade intercept in NSD057. Both results strengthen the geological, structural and mineralisation similarities between Darlington and the historic high-grade Mariners Lodes at Stawell, located approximately 6 km to the south. The historic Mariners Lodes at Stawell are a compelling target-type for NSM exploration - with reported historic production of 740,000 - 950,000 oz Au at an average grade of 28-30 g/t Au."

— Bill Reid, Executive Director

North Stawell explores a contiguous 445 square kilometre tenement package situated immediately north of the Stawell Gold Mine. Within this portfolio, the Darlington Prospect forms a key focus among twelve distinct basalts that have demonstrated associated gold mineralisation.

Activity across the wider Victorian gold sector continues to see active advancement, highlighted by Aureka Limited reporting a 26% increase in its global JORC Resource to 455koz at the Irvine project within the surrounding district.

To test the vertical and lateral continuity of the system at Darlington, follow-up diamond drill hole NSD063 has already been completed directly beneath NSD062, with assay results currently pending.

The company's shares closed at $0.024, up 20.00% on the day following the announcement.
