Oceanic Iron Ore Details Strategy For Hopes Advance Development

Oceanic Iron Ore Corp. has outlined its broader business strategy and corporate objectives for the 100% owned Hopes Advance iron ore project in Québec, Canada, detailing the asset's logistical advantages, corporate history, and the active permitting steps underway.
The flagship Labrador Trough project hosts a Measured and Indicated mineral resource of approximately 1.36 billion tonnes at a head grade of 32.1% Fe. Situated at tidewater on the northeast coast of Québec, the development avoids the capital expenditure and operating costs typically required to build and operate long-distance railways to transport iron ore to market. In addition to Hopes Advance, Oceanic holds a 100% interest in the Morgan Lake and Roberts Lake iron ore development projects within the same region.
The current strategy update follows a long period of corporate restructuring and project hibernation. Following initial exploration, the company placed the project into strategic hibernation during lower iron ore price cycles. That holding period was subsequently extended due to ownership complexities involving a majority Chinese investment fund, as management believed the Canadian government was unlikely to approve a project backed by a majority Chinese shareholder amid rising geopolitical tensions.
Those ownership constraints lifted when the Chinese investment fund sold its 12,480,125 common shares to local investors and insiders.
With local ownership established, Oceanic completed a $50 million equity financing to fund active operations and renewed development work. Building on that funding, Oceanic initiated updated environmental and social baseline studies across terrestrial, marine, and human environments. These baseline investigations cover proposed mine infrastructure, access roads, an airport, and offshore conditions associated with a proposed deepwater port.
The company is also developing an updated engagement plan to support project descriptions and a future Environmental and Social Impact Assessment submission for Hopes Advance.
