Ongwe Intersects High-Grade Gold at Belmont BK2 Target
Ongwe Minerals Inc. has intersected high-grade gold at the BK2 Target within the Belmont Prospect at its Khorixas Gold Project in Namibia, returning reverse circulation drill intercepts including 3 metres grading 9.21 grams per tonne gold from 17 metres in hole BKR010, and 7 metres at 3.23 grams per tonne gold from 78 metres in hole BKR019.

The company holds the Khorixas Gold Project as a flagship asset following its reverse takeover and TSXV listing in February 2026. Recent scout drilling tested structural targets beneath calcrete cover. Hole BKR010 also returned 3 metres at 6.45 grams per tonne gold from 70 metres, while hole BKR019 intersected 5 metres at 1.11 grams per tonne gold from 63 metres. Mineralization is associated with complex folding and a late-stage influx of sulfides along contacts between arkosic sandstones and schists.
"The recent RC scout drilling at the Belmont BK2 target has confirmed that there is high-grade gold associated with complex folding and a late-stage influx of sulphides including pyrrhotite, pyrite and arsenopyrite. The initial intersections at BK2 are narrow, but the grades are very encouraging including 7m @ 3.23g/t in hole BKR019 and 3m @ 9.61g/t and 3m @ 6.45g/t in hole BKR010.
This mineralization looks similar to Osino’s high-grade Eureka deposit 50km to the east which consists of a series of sulphide dominated plunging shoots controlled by complex folding. Given the structural complexity of these types of deposits, the next phase of drilling will be with a diamond rig so that we can start understanding the structural and lithological controls of the mineralization."

To follow up, Ongwe Minerals has outlined a 3,500-metre drilling plan comprising 2,000 metres of reverse circulation drilling and 1,500 metres of diamond drilling to test targets across the Belmont Prospect for the remainder of 2026. The program will target BK1 down-dip extensions, extensions at BK2, the 1.5-kilometre-long soil anomaly at BK8, and the bedrock anomaly at Plains.
Additionally, Ongwe Minerals plans a Phase 1 deep-looking magnetotellurics and ground gravity survey at the K17 prospect in October 2026 to advance the copper-gold target toward drill-ready status. Meanwhile, regional exploration momentum continues to build across the district, where WIA Gold Limited reported an updated Mineral Resource Estimate for the Kokoseb gold project in August 2026, increasing total resources by 29% to 3.78 million ounces of gold.
