Ongwe Minerals Inc. has delineated a 6km strike length of gold-in-soil anomalism at its Nguni prospect in Namibia, with 50 soil samples returning grades above 300ppb gold, including a peak assay of 1,310ppb. The results follow the completion of a 50m by 50m infill soil sampling grid, which has confirmed that the anomaly remains open to the north, east, and west.

The Nguni prospect is situated along the Okondeka Fault Zone, an area where geological architecture suggests gold mineralization is hosted within metasedimentary rocks adjacent to granitic contacts. To further define the anomaly, Ongwe is in the final stages of securing land access agreements for adjacent farms covering the northern, eastern, and western strike extensions. Once finalized, field crews are set to mobilize to expand the current sampling grid.

The company is now preparing to initiate a maiden 5,000m diamond drill program at Nguni, scheduled to commence toward the end of August 2026. This initial drilling will target the core areas of the anomaly to provide essential structural and stratigraphic data, as bedrock exposure in the region is limited by alluvial cover.

“The infill work on the Nguni prospect is now complete and it looks like a very robust target with scale potential.”

“We are excited about initiating the first ever drill program at Nguni, and will be commencing with RC and diamond drilling in order to get detailed geological information in this area of very limited outcrop.”

— Dave Underwood, CEO

Beyond the work at Nguni, Ongwe is also advancing its Khorixas Gold Project. The company has completed a short reverse circulation (RC) drill program at the Belmont prospect, guided by recent structural re-interpretation and surface mapping. Assay results from this program are currently pending, with the company expecting to report findings in the coming weeks.

Market activity has responded to the update, with shares of Ongwe Minerals Inc. currently trading at $1.33, up 9.92% in the session.
