Oreterra Metals Corp. has intersected strong porphyry-style alteration accompanied by local bornite, chalcopyrite, and magnetite mineralization in drill hole TS26-06 at the Trek South prospect in British Columbia’s Golden Triangle.

Hole TS26-06 has reached a depth of 297 metres and continues toward a target depth of 600 metres, testing a magnetic high anomaly that typically represents the higher-grade intrusive core of a porphyry system. The presence of bornite, garnet, and magnetite suggests the hole is approaching the source intrusion centering the Trek South porphyry system.

The Trek South prospect is new to modern exploration, revealed by glacial ice melt, with the 2026 field season marking its first-ever drill program. Oreterra funded the maiden 5,000-metre program through a $9.7 million private placement in March 2026.

Drilling has reached 2,020 metres completed out of a targeted Phase 1 total of 5,000 metres. Five holes are finished, hole TS26-06 is underway, and a second rig has been mobilized to collar hole TS26-07. Additionally, crews are completing a drill pad 200 metres south of hole 6 to target the magnetic anomaly with hole TS26-08.

The Tahltan Nation and the BC Ministry of Mining and Critical Minerals have authorized Oreterra to leave all eight established drill pads in place over the winter rather than the three specified under its multi-year exploration permit.

“There was real excitement in the core shack among all of us when bornite was first identified in core, along with chalcopyrite, magnetite and red garnet and some of the strongest alteration we've seen to date, which is carrying on through the current drilling,” said Kevin Keough, CEO. “We are moving our second drill to the pad adjacent to the east of hole 6 where it will commence drilling hole 7, and we are completing a pad 200 metres south of the current hole 6, from which we will drill hole 8, which will target the most intense part of the magnetic anomaly.”

Drilling is expected to continue into September, with assay results currently pending. In the trading session following the announcement, the company's shares rose 34.83% to close at C$0.60 on August 25, 2026.
