Oroco Resource Corp. has intersected 26.48 metres at 1.18% copper equivalent from a depth of 48 metres in hole S033 at the Santo Tomás copper project in Sinaloa, Mexico. These results form part of the latest drilling campaign within the project’s South Zone, which is currently focused on upgrading inferred resources to the indicated category.

Drilling in the central western portion of the South Zone, specifically in holes S031 and S034, has identified mineralization extending beyond the limits of the project’s current inferred block model. According to the company, surface outcrops located 330 metres to the west further suggest a potential wedge of additional mineralization in that direction.

Separately, recent drilling at the southern end of the South Zone—including holes S027, S030, and S032—has served to define the southern limit of mineralization. Several of these holes intersected variable copper oxide mineralization within a mixed oxide-sulphide zone.

“These Phase 2 results support the potential for additional resource outside of the 2024 Technical Report block model and continue to support the approach being taken at Santo Tomás. Additional drilling to date in the southern half of the South Zone supports the potential for a higher-grade zone as first identified in Phase 1 drill hole S018. Drilling to the west also has the potential for additional tonnage beyond the inferred material classification limits.”

Resource drilling in the South Zone is now nearing completion. Once finished, the company intends to relocate its three active drill rigs to “the Gap,” the area situated between the project’s North and South zones.

The current Phase 2 program is designed to gather the geotechnical, hydrogeological, and metallurgical data required for a Pre-Feasibility Study. Oroco is targeting the release of this study in Q2 or Q3 of 2027.
