Orpheus Secures New Exploration Licences For Marree Project
Orpheus Uranium Limited has been granted three new exploration licences covering a combined 2,735 square kilometres, expanding the scale and continuity of its Marree Uranium Project in South Australia.
The newly granted tenements—EL 7144 (Etadunna South, 939 square kilometres), EL 7145 (Dulkaninna North, 935 square kilometres), and EL 7146 (Dulkaninna South, 861 square kilometres)—are held 100 per cent by Orpheus subsidiary Trachre Pty Ltd. The ground sits within the uranium-rich Lake Eyre Basin along the western margin of the Northern Flinders Ranges, containing mapped occurrences of the prospective Namba and Eyre Formations alongside various Cretaceous sedimentary units.

The new licences complement Orpheus's broader district-scale consolidation strategy, which includes a formal sale agreement executed in August 2026 to acquire seven exploration licences covering approximately 2,513 square kilometres from Adavale Resources Limited.

Earlier exploration across the project area was advanced under an initial Native Title Mining Agreement executed in October 2025 with The Dieri Aboriginal Corporation, the registered native title body corporate for the Dieri Determination Area. Orpheus holds an established Native Title Mining Agreement with The Dieri Aboriginal Corporation for exploration, which provides a framework for future activities through additional authorities covenant provisions, subject to consultation, heritage surveys, access requirements, and regulatory approvals.
Initial work will focus on applying the uranium mineralisation model developed across existing and recently acquired tenure to the newly granted ground. This program will utilise contemporary in-house interpretation techniques supported by on-ground field visits to calibrate the model, define buried palaeochannels and prospective permeable sandstone horizons, and identify priority targets for advanced-stage exploration, including drilling, as the company works toward a meaningful uranium discovery.
