Pacific Resources Limited has updated the resource statement for the Blackall Coal Project in south-western Queensland. The new assessment reflects the mandatory relinquishment of specific sub-blocks from exploration permits EPC1993 and EPC1719, as required by the terms of those permits.

McElroy Bryan Geological Services prepared the updated assessment in accordance with the JORC Code. The revised total coal resource for the project now stands at 1,125 million tonnes. This aggregate figure is comprised of 55 million tonnes classified as Indicated resources and 1,070 million tonnes classified as Inferred resources. A significant portion of the total identified resource, approximately 740 million tonnes, is estimated to reside at a depth of less than 50 metres.

The project is situated 145 kilometres south-west of Alpha and 680 kilometres west-northwest of Brisbane. The Inverness Deposit, the primary focus of the updated statement, occupies a 25-kilometre-long north-northwest trending synclinal structure. The coal seams within this structure are relatively flat-lying, with local sub-cropping controlled by the gentle geological structure of the deposit.

Pacific Resources maintains a focus on the development of its coal assets in south-western Queensland. As part of its forward-looking project work, the company is conducting ongoing investigations into the deployment of alternative low-carbon technologies for the utilization of its coal resources on-site. These technical assessments into potential site-based processing and usage methods continue to represent a key part of the company's activities for the Blackall project.
