Pelangio Advances Ghana Gold Assets
Pelangio Exploration Inc. has advanced exploration across its Ghana portfolio, completing a controlled-source electromagnetic survey at the Manfo project while preparing new drill programs at Obuasi and Dankran.
The completed geophysical survey at Manfo covered 2.8 square kilometres over the Pokukrom deposits and down-plunge extensions. The work follows a recent drilling program that returned 26 metres at 2.99 grams per tonne gold from 270 metres, including six metres at 11.74 grams per tonne. The Manfo project hosts an Indicated Mineral Resource of 441,000 ounces of gold and an Inferred Mineral Resource of 396,000 ounces.
Pelangio owns a 100% interest in Manfo and holds the Obuasi property, where a 9.2-square-kilometre controlled-source electromagnetic survey is scheduled to start by the end of September. The survey will run in collaboration with neighbour AngloGold Ashanti to evaluate exploration targets along the Obuasi Mine trend to depths of one kilometre or more. Field work is expected to take six to eight weeks.

Partner TuNya Mineral Resources Ltd. has also started a 2,000-metre reverse circulation drilling program on the southern Tarkwaian portion of the Obuasi property to test soil anomalies as part of an 80% earn-in agreement.
“What is particularly encouraging is that each of these programs is aimed at answering an important geological question,” said Ingrid Hibbard, President and CEO of Pelangio. “At Manfo, we are testing the potential for mineralization beyond the depth reached by recent drilling. At Obuasi, we will be surveying along a trend associated with one of the world's premier gold districts, and at Dankran we are following up on previous high-grade drill intercepts. Collectively, these programs represent meaningful catalysts for advancing our understanding of the potential across our Ghana assets.”

In addition to the geophysical and partner-funded work, preparations are underway for a five-hole diamond drilling program totaling 650 metres at the Dankran property, with an additional 150 metres planned to test artisanal mining sites. Drilling is scheduled to commence by the end of September.
