Perseus Mining Pursues Growth Opportunities at Yaoure Gold Mine
Perseus Mining Limited (ASX/TSX: PRU) is accelerating development and exploration efforts at its Yaoure gold mine in Côte d'Ivoire. The company reports significant operational progress, highlighted by a strong performance at the Yaoure open pit, where recent grade control drilling identified 24% more gold over the past six months than predicted by the initial reserve model. This positive reconciliation is attributed to the identification of additional mineralisation domains that were previously under-represented in earlier, wider-spaced resource drilling models.
The CMA underground operation is simultaneously advancing toward steady-state production. Following the commencement of initial stoping in late April 2026, the company is now moving to bolster its development capacity. A third jumbo drill rig is being mobilised to the site, a move intended to accelerate both ore delivery and the development of dedicated drill drives to facilitate future underground exploration.
"Yaouré continues to demonstrate why it is a cornerstone asset in our portfolio. The successful transition of CMA Underground into stoping operations reflects the strength of our in-house team and their ability to execute complex underground developments safely and to schedule."
— Craig Jones, Managing Director and CEO
Beyond immediate production, the company is prioritising long-term resource expansion. Exploration drilling targeting deeper extensions of known mineralisation and new areas beyond existing boundaries has yielded positive results. To sustain this momentum, Perseus has committed $34 million toward an intensive exploration and in-fill drilling program throughout the upcoming fiscal year. This capital investment aims to convert existing Inferred Resources into higher confidence categories and extend the overall mine life of the Yaoure project.
Operational milestones for the underground expansion remain on track as the site transitions toward full-scale production. The breakthrough of the Blika and Pauline declines is currently scheduled for completion in the first quarter of fiscal year 2027, which will support planned production from the upper-level stoping fronts.
As the company refines its geological models and continues to integrate updated geotechnical recommendations into its stope designs, it expects to provide further operational updates during the next reporting cycle. Investors and stakeholders can anticipate more detailed performance data in the company's June 2026 quarterly results, which are slated for release on 30 July 2026. The combination of strong reconciliation performance and disciplined capital allocation into exploration underscores the company's focus on organic growth at the site.
