Pilbara Gold (PGL) has officially commenced a 12,000-metre reverse circulation drilling program at its Roe Hills gold project, located near Kalgoorlie, Western Australia. The current campaign marks the end of an eight-year exploration hiatus at the site, with activities now focused on testing bedrock gold mineralisation across the Terra and Caliburn prospects.

The majority of the drilling is concentrated on a 1.8-kilometre mineralised corridor at the Terra prospect, where previous reconnaissance work identified gold intersections. A smaller portion of the current program, approximately 1,600 metres, has been ear-marked for the Caliburn prospect to further assess its mineralised potential.

Managing Director Dr. Peter Turner highlighted the company's objective to evaluate the scale of the identified gold zones to support a potential maiden mineral resource estimation.

"We are targeting significant gold resources at Roe Hills and recognise that historic reconnaissance drilling has laid the foundation for us to achieve our goal. It is an exciting project and in the right area and this drilling will quickly determine the scale of the mineralised corridor. We anticipate completing the 12,000m drilling across Roe Hills this quarter."

The company expects to maintain its current momentum, with the entire 12,000-metre drill program slated for completion within the current quarter. Following the conclusion of field work, the technical team plans to interpret the assay results to wireframe geological domains, which will be essential for the company’s future assessment of the project’s resource potential.
