Prospect Ridge Secures Drilling Permit for Excalibur Project
Prospect Ridge Resources Corp. (CSE: PRR) has secured a multi-year area-based drilling permit for its 100% owned Excalibur copper-gold porphyry project in British Columbia. The permit, valid for five years, grants the company authorization to initiate its maiden drill program at the 28-square-kilometre tenure. Management intends to commence the inaugural 3,000-metre drilling campaign in July 2026, targeting a 1 km by 2 km zone defined by geophysical and geochemical anomalies that have never been drill-tested.
The project, located in the Babine porphyry belt, is road-accessible and displays signatures characteristic of copper-bearing, calc-alkaline porphyry systems. Recent induced polarization survey work identified moderate chargeability in the core target area, flanked by high chargeability and low resistivity interpreted as a pyrite halo. These features, combined with a coincident magnetic high, point to the potential for a buried mineralized core.
"Our team have been preparing to drill test this exciting new porphyry target in an established mining district since fieldwork in late 2025 more clearly defined the target. This program is designed to discover a new Babine-style copper‑gold porphyry system - a potentially transformational event for the Company." — Len Brownlie, Ph.D., President and CEO
As the company prepares for this initial test at Excalibur, Prospect Ridge is simultaneously advancing its Camelot project where drilling is also on the docket for the 2026 season. The company is currently finalizing drill contracts for the Excalibur program, with subsequent updates expected as drilling progresses. Investors anticipate that the completion of this maiden program will eventually lead to the receipt and interpretation of assay results, which will provide the first sub-surface look at the project's mineral potential.
