Puma Exploration Inc. has announced that Kinross Gold Corp. has commenced an initial 2,000-metre diamond drilling program at the Jaguar Gold Zone of the Williams Brook Gold Project in Northern New Brunswick.

Under the terms of the option agreement signed in October 2024, Kinross is funding $16.75 million in exploration expenditures over five years to earn a 65% interest in the 40,225-hectare property. The active drill campaign comprises seven holes ranging from 200 to 500 metres in depth, targeting the core of the Jaguar Gold Zone and step-out geophysical anomalies located approximately 500 metres away.

The summer program follows earlier work on the property, including a 1,360-metre winter campaign across five holes at the Jaguar Gold Zone. Alongside the active drilling, the summer exploration initiative has encompassed regional prospecting, geological mapping, 32 test pit trenches excavated directly within the Jaguar Gold Zone, two soil geochemistry surveys totalling 1,411 samples, and a drone magnetic survey covering 2,920.9 hectares.

Assay results from the summer drilling program are currently pending and will be formally announced once received. Field crews at Williams Brook will continue exploring across the property until September.

Meanwhile, Puma Exploration reported assay results from its inaugural 2,721-metre diamond drilling program at the RIM Gold Zone of its McKenzie Gold Project within the surrounding district in July 2026, intersecting high-grade gold including 42.60 g/t gold over 0.25 metres.
