Queensland Minister for Natural Resources and Mines Dale Last has visited QMines Limited’s flagship Mt Chalmers Copper and Gold Project in Central Queensland to review ongoing development progress.

Minister Last and a delegation including local State Members and senior departmental representatives toured the site and inspected the historic open pits. The visit follows the Queensland Government’s $15 million strategic investment through the QIC Critical Minerals Fund, which comprises a $5 million equity investment and a $10 million royalty investment.

The funding package fully covers QMines Limited’s Definitive Feasibility Study, which aims to advance the project toward a Final Investment Decision. QMines is progressing the Mt Chalmers project through a staged development strategy designed to bring the historic mine back into production.

The site inspection coincides with a concurrent work program across the property. QMines is continuing a 10,000-metre multi-rig drilling campaign alongside environmental approvals, metallurgical, geotechnical and engineering programs.

Commenting on the high-level engagement, QMines Executive Chairman Andrew Sparke said, “For our shareholders, I think the significance of these visits should not be underestimated. In a relatively short period, we have now welcomed senior Queensland Government Ministers, local State Members, departmental executives and representatives of QIC to Mt Chalmers, while also securing a $15 million strategic investment from the Queensland Government through QIC's Critical Minerals Fund.”
