Québec Innovative Materials Launches 78-Kilometre 2D Seismic Campaign Across Natural Hydrogen Projects

Québec Innovative Materials Corp. has launched a district-scale 2D seismic campaign totalling approximately 78 line-kilometres across its natural hydrogen projects in Québec and Nova Scotia.
The program includes an approximately 36 line-kilometre survey at the Témiscamingue clean natural hydrogen project in Québec and an approximately 42 line-kilometre survey across the Nova Scotia natural hydrogen district. The road-based Vibroseis surveys are non-invasive, requiring no shot-hole drilling, explosives, hydraulic fracturing or reservoir stimulation.
In Québec, the seismic program will map structures associated with hydrogen anomalies identified through previous soil-gas surveys and drilling at St-Bruno-de-Guigues. The work will refine the district-scale geological model developed with INRS under the company’s R2G2™ exploration framework. The Témiscamingue project is where this proprietary framework was first validated through exploration. Following field acquisition, the Québec program will undergo data processing, interpretation and integration with existing exploration datasets.
The Nova Scotia program comprises nine planned survey segments across an approximate 43-kilometre exploration corridor, supported by private land authorization. The survey will integrate with a five-hole drilling campaign, soil-gas samples, ground magnetics and geological mapping. Following field acquisition, the Nova Scotia seismic data will undergo processing, interpretation and integration with drilling and geochemical datasets.
Québec Innovative Materials plans subsequent phases of drilling, pressure testing, flow testing and accumulation characterization to define priority targets following the seismic programs in both provinces.

The Québec program is being carried out in close partnership with the Témiscamingue First Nation and will be monitored by the Ministère de l’Économie, de l’Innovation et de l’Énergie.
