Rackla Metals Inc. has partnered with Simon Fraser University to sponsor a master’s-level research study focused on magma fertility and melt-fluid evolution at the Lentung tungsten skarn project in the western Northwest Territories.

Master’s candidate Sophia Huang will conduct the research starting this fall under the supervision of Dr. Xinyue Xu, an economic geologist who joined Simon Fraser University as an assistant professor in July 2025. The study is supported by Mitacs, an organization that connects industry with academic institutions to promote innovation and productivity in Canada.

The research program will examine the Lened Pluton and associated tungsten skarn mineralization by combining petrographic analysis of granites, dykes, skarn minerals and veins with fluid and melt inclusion work. Analytical techniques will include microthermometry, Raman spectroscopy, electron probe microanalysis, and laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry. Investigators will assess the magmatic metal budget, melt-fluid relationships, and metal partitioning.

Rackla acquired 100% ownership of the 19,600-hectare Lentung tungsten property, formerly known as Lened, through mineral claim staking in late 2025.

CEO Simon Ridgway noted that the project will present meaningful scientific challenges and provide valuable insights into the Lentung mineralizing system.
