Resources & Energy Group Confirms Gold in Drilling 1 Kilometre South of Gigante Grande Resource

Resources & Energy Group has confirmed gold mineralisation in reverse circulation sample assays at the East Menzies Gold Project in Western Australia, returning a single-metre intercept of 2 metres at 4.20 g/t gold from 152 metres downhole.
The 726-metre program comprised six holes across two areas of the Gigante Grande prospect, located approximately 130 kilometres north of Kalgoorlie. Four holes tested the southern extension target situated one kilometre south of the existing Gigante Grande Mineral Resource, while two holes investigated saprolite mineralisation on the edge of the resource.
Single-metre re-sampling of hole 26GGRC046 returned several notable intervals in the southern extension, including 2 metres at 1.51 g/t gold from 111 metres, 2 metres at 1.10 g/t gold from 127 metres, and 2 metres at 1.03 g/t gold from 68 metres downhole. Gold mineralisation in this southern area supports Mining Lease Application MLA29/437.
Drilling on the northern edge of the resource also intersected broad near-surface mineralisation in the saprolite zone alongside higher-grade intervals in fresh rock. Hole 26GGRC049 returned 18 metres at 0.65 g/t gold from 34 metres downhole, including a 9-metre section at 1.1 g/t gold from 36 metres and 1 metre at 3.12 g/t gold from 98 metres. Hole 26GGRC050 intersected 2 metres at 2.39 g/t gold from 41 metres downhole, including 1 metre at 4.28 g/t gold as part of a wider 12-metre mineralised zone.
“While the multiple 2+ g/t Au results from our two drillholes at Gigante Grande give us confidence in expanding our known Mineral Resource, we are even more excited with the continued discovery of more gold in drilling at Gigante Grande Southern Extension. This area is located one kilometre south of our Gigante Grande Maiden Mineral Resource estimated late last year. It has every indication of being the next Mineral Resource, should future drilling align with our work to date. We continue to learn more about this large-scale Gigante Grande area, as we look to realise the potential of a near-surface mineralised system with 7km of known strike length.”

The Gigante Grande Central Domain holds a JORC-compliant Global Exploration Target of 4.0 million to 5.0 million tonnes grading 1.3 g/t to 3.0 g/t gold, containing 160,000 to 500,000 ounces. Resources & Energy Group plans future drilling to complement the recent reverse circulation campaign and is considering oriented diamond core drilling to better understand host lithologies and structural controls.
