Riversgold Secures Haul Road Access For Northern Zone
Riversgold Limited has reached agreement to remove the final objections to the haul road Miscellaneous Licences for the Northern Zone Gold Project, clearing the path for the infrastructure applications to proceed to formal grant.
The resolution of the remaining disputes removes the last regulatory hurdle for physically transporting ore from the site. Once granted, licences L25/75 and L25/77 will establish an ore haulage corridor connecting the open-pit project to gazetted roads and highways, linking the operation to third-party processing facilities in the area.

Riversgold previously applied for transport access tenure in May 2025. The permits will provide site access outside the main mining lease, which was granted in July 2026 for a 21-year term running to July 2047.
“Reaching agreement to remove the Project's last objections is a key outcome. Once granted, the licences will create an ore haulage corridor to main roads that lead to third- party processing facilities in the area. Removal of the final objections to the Project will allow us to submit our Mine Development and Closure Proposal (MDCP) to the Department of Mines, Petroleum and Exploration (DMPE)We remain on track to submit our MDCP to DMPE later this month, and we are working closely with our funding partner Mega Resources on finalising mine planning and scheduling.”
— Ed Mead, Technical Director
The company remains on track to lodge its Mine Development and Closure Proposal with the Department of Mines, Petroleum and Exploration later this month. Alongside the upcoming proposal and a pending Native Vegetation Clearing Permit application submitted to the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation, the grant of the transport licences represents one of the key remaining requirements before mining can begin.
The Northern Zone project is owned 80% by Riversgold and 20% by Oracle Power Plc. Project development is fully funded by Mega Resources under a 50/50 profit-share agreement signed in September 2025. Riversgold is working alongside its funding partner on finalising mine planning and scheduling ahead of the proposal submission.
