Rocky Shore Gold Commences Drilling at Mosquito Target Horizon at Gold Anchor
Rocky Shore Gold Ltd. has commenced a first-phase drill program at the newly identified Mosquito Target Horizon immediately south of the Mosquito Hill Gold Deposit at its 100%-owned Gold Anchor Project in central Newfoundland.
Modern 3D resistivity inversions indicate that approximately 63% of the interpreted intrusive footprint lies outside the currently drilled deposit outline. The new drill program prioritizes the Mosquito Target Horizon, defined as a high-gradient resistivity transition zone along the eastern margin where historical higher-grade gold values are concentrated. The updated geological model establishes a new priority exploration target, as the horizon extends beyond the current deposit and remains open along strike.
At the nearby Lane Pond Gold Target, Rocky Shore Gold is collecting, analyzing, and interpreting drill data from a recently completed 25-hole program, with assay results expected to be released once available. Meanwhile, regional activity in the district includes recent channel sampling by New Found Gold at its Queensway project, which returned 23.7 g/t gold over 15.88 metres in July 2026.
Rocky Shore Gold also received financial support and approval for the 2026 Junior Exploration Assistance (JEA) program administered by the Mineral Development Division of the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, following $150,000 in support received for 2025.
“The drill has now moved proximal to our Mosquito Hill Gold Deposit with a goal of testing the outer limits of the mineralization and, at the same time, we are collecting, analyzing and interpreting all drill data from the recently completed 25 holes at our Lane Pond Gold Target. The identification of the Mosquito Target Horizon is defined as a distinct geological and prominent resistivity setting on trend to historical higher-grade gold intersections within the deposit. The Target Horizon extends well beyond the current gold deposit and remains open along strike, fundamentally changing how we intend to explore Mosquito Hill. We are excited to see this model tested as we begin our next phase of drilling.”
