Rocky Shore Secures Handcamp Property For Rocky Pond VMS Project
Under the Handcamp option agreement, Rocky Shore’s wholly owned subsidiary will obtain an exclusive option to acquire a 100% undivided interest through total cash payments of $450,000, $1.4 million in common shares, and $2.25 million in exploration expenditures over three years. Upon exercising the option, the optionor will retain a 2.0% net smelter return royalty, subject to a right of first refusal held by the company.
Additionally, Rocky Shore purchased a 100% interest in the Springdale Property for $30,000 in cash and 285,000 common shares. The vendors retain a 2.5% net smelter return royalty, of which the company can repurchase 60% for $1.5 million. Both the initial cash payments and share issuances remain subject to customary closing conditions. Project operator Rocky Shore Metals also staked three new map-staked claims near the project between 31 July and 12 August 2026.
The 40-kilometre-long project trend sits within the Roberts Arm VMS Belt, which hosts the former high-grade Buchans VMS mine. Historical near-surface drilling at the Handcamp Zone includes 1.96 g/t gold equivalent over 25.05 metres from 13.05 metres in hole H22-04, and 2.20 g/t gold equivalent over 21.95 metres from 10.20 metres in hole H22-03.

Ken Lapierre, President and CEO of Rocky Shore Gold, commented, “We are fortunate to have secured such a project as we believe it is an opportunity that may significantly enhance Rocky Shore's discovery profile. We are now firmly established in two exciting districts in central Newfoundland. At Rocky Pond, we are now located within a VMS belt hosting an existing high-grade gold-rich VMS prospect and a prime location where multiple gold-rich VMS discoveries are possible.”
The newly formed project complements the company’s existing 100%-owned Gold Anchor Project. To advance the new acquisition, Rocky Shore intends to fly an airborne VTEM survey over the entire property while continuing concurrent drilling at Gold Anchor, where upcoming drill results are expected shortly.
