Royal Gold Delivers Record Quarterly Cash Flow of $335.2 Million
Royal Gold, Inc. generated record operating cash flow of $335.2 million for the quarter ended 30 June 2026, a result underpinned by $450.5 million in total revenue. This performance represented a significant increase from the $209.6 million in revenue reported in the prior year period, driven by higher average gold, silver, and copper prices along with a sales volume of 100,000 gold equivalent ounces.
Following the release of these financial results, Royal Gold stock rose 4.40% to close at $215.09 on 5 August 2026.
During the quarter, the company focused on capital discipline by repaying $200 million on its revolving credit facility, leaving total available liquidity at approximately $1.2 billion. Royal Gold also continued its share repurchase program, buying back 147,205 shares for $30 million.
“Financial results for the second quarter were strong and we made meaningful progress on executing our priorities,” said Bill Heissenbuttel, President and CEO of Royal Gold.
The second quarter also featured several portfolio-level developments. The company restructured its ownership in the Hod Maden Project, reducing its direct equity interest from 30% to 15% while gaining a new 2.5% net smelter return royalty. Additionally, the company advanced a $50 million payment to Solaris Resources Inc. for the Warintza Project. Looking toward future milestones, Royal Gold expects to pay the final $50 million of conditional funding for the Warintza stream agreement in the third or fourth quarter of 2026, contingent on the completion of security filings in Ecuador.
In the company’s Arizona portfolio, the integration of the Cactus Project remains a focus following its acquisition by Hudbay Minerals Inc. Hudbay is currently advancing an updated pre-feasibility study for the project, which is scheduled for completion in the second half of 2027.
Beyond these developments, the company settled remaining fixed delivery obligations at the Relief Canyon mine. This settlement, involving the delivery of 5,000 ounces of gold and common shares of Americas Gold and Silver Corporation, resulted in a $2.6 million gain for the quarter. Royal Gold continues to maintain its royalty and stream interest at the site, although the net book value of that interest was reduced to zero following the agreement.
