RPX Gold Hits 1.87 g/t Gold Over 35.1 m at Wawa
RPX Gold Inc. has reported gold assay results from 25 drill holes totaling 4,336 metres from its ongoing 2026 drilling program at the Wawa Gold Project in Ontario.

The latest drilling returned 1.87 grams per tonne gold over a core length of 35.10 metres in hole SD-26-676, including 21.50 g/t gold over 1.00 metre and 6.22 g/t gold over 2.35 metres. The intersection extends mineralization at the southern end of the Jubilee Deposit beyond the 2026 preliminary economic assessment mine plan, leaving the zone open down-plunge. Additional southern results include 1.19 g/t gold over 33.98 metres in hole SD-26-674 and 2.66 g/t gold over 9.87 metres in hole SD-26-675.
RPX Gold has completed about two-thirds of the drilling required for its planned prefeasibility study and half of its 20,000-metre 2026 drill program. Near-surface drilling at the Surluga Mine crown pillar added intercepts such as 2.05 g/t gold over 4.26 metres in hole SD-26-660A and 1.61 g/t gold over 8.47 metres in hole SD-26-685, supporting the potential to expand open-pit resources and connect the North and South pits.
Alamos Gold Inc. reported high-grade exploration drilling results across multiple targets at its Island Gold project within the surrounding district in June 2026.
The Wawa Gold Project's development is guided by a Preliminary Economic Assessment from February 2026, outlining an after-tax NPV5% of C$523 million and an after-tax IRR of 99.7% at a base case gold price of US$3,500/oz.
“We are pleased with the progress of our 2026 drill program, with these latest results demonstrating the continuity of mineralization within and beyond the 2026 PEA mine plan, particularly at the southern end of the Jubilee Deposit. With approximately half of the overall program now completed, we remain focused on expanding and upgrading the resource as well as continued de-risking of the Wawa Gold Project as we advance toward an updated mineral resource estimate and PFS in H1 2027.”
“As the PFS-focused drilling nears completion, an increasing portion of the remaining 2026 drill program will shift to exploration targets, testing new areas for potential resource growth while keeping the Wawa project on track towards production.”
— Michael Michaud, President and CEO of RPX Gold
RPX Gold targets the completion of an updated mineral resource estimate and a prefeasibility study for the Wawa Gold Project in H1 2027, with the drill program continuing to test new exploration targets as development advances.
