Salazar Advances Construction at El Domo Project Ahead of 2027 Commissioning

Salazar Resources Limited reported continued construction progress at the Curipamba-El Domo polymetallic project in Ecuador, with cumulative capital expenditures reaching US$66.2 million by June 30, 2026.
Construction at the El Domo deposit is fully funded, supported by a stream financing agreement with Wheaton Precious Metals. On July 31, 2026, project operator Silvercorp Metals received its second installment of US$43.9 million under the US$175.5 million arrangement, bringing total proceeds received to approximately US$87.8 million.
During the three months ended June 30, 2026, capital expenditures at the El Domo project totaled US$12.3 million, compared with US$4.8 million invested in the same period of the prior year. Site activities during the quarter advanced across multiple fronts, with approximately 604,600 cubic metres of earthworks excavation and fill completed for non-contact water channels, processing plant foundations, and the initial dam for the tailings storage facility. The temporary camp is fully operational, while earthworks excavation continues for the permanent camp.
Procurement for the processing plant and water treatment station is complete, with major equipment currently in transit to Ecuador. Open-pit pre-stripping has also commenced, backed by equipment additions and road upgrades that support a planned total of approximately 4.1 million cubic metres of stripping.
“We have been following the ongoing construction at El Domo and are very pleased with the progress being made. Senior management of Salazar has just completed a site tour and have seen firsthand how the mine is developing. We look forward to the commissioning of operations targeted for July 2027”
— Fredy Salazar, President & CEO
Commissioning of operations at the El Domo project is targeted for July 2027. Salazar holds a 25 percent carried interest in the project, which is fully carried to production, while Silvercorp holds the remaining 75 percent interest and operates the joint venture. In August 2026, Salazar filed an independent National Instrument 43-101 technical report prepared by SRK Consulting, which supports the updated mineral resource and reserve figures for the deposit.
