Scandium Canada Ltd. has achieved a large-scale commercial deployment of its Scalium® aluminum-scandium alloy, with the material integrated into the construction of every ski in Ferreol Skis' new 2026-2027 collection.

The commercial rollout utilizes thin 0.4 mm sheets of the alloy across Ferreol Skis' entire ski line, delivering tangible benefits in on-snow stability, edge grip, vibration damping, and durability. The deployment builds on earlier collaborative development work between the two groups. The alloy is also being used in specialized lines designed for the defence industry as a mobility solution for extreme and arctic environments, with the collection deploying across several international markets including France.

The commercialization follows Scandium Canada's acquisition of Ferreol Technologies on June 29, 2026, with the wholly owned subsidiary subsequently renamed Scalium+ to market specialized aluminum-scandium alloys.

The alloy integration supports Scandium Canada's dual-engine strategy, which pairs current alloy commercialization with the advancement of its Crater Lake mining project in Nunavik, Québec. The company is advancing the pre-feasibility study for the Crater Lake project, while Scalium+ continues broader qualification work for its aluminum-scandium alloys across the aeronautics, automotive, and defence sectors.
