Selkirk Copper Mines Inc. has commenced a scoping study with the Municipality of Skagway Borough to establish a sustainable shipping methodology for critical mineral concentrates through the Port of Skagway, backed by up to US$200,000 in funding from the company.

The evaluation proceeds pursuant to a funding agreement entered into by the parties on July 17, 2026. Following a competitive selection process involving both parties, Skagway awarded the scoping study contract to engineering consultant KPFF Consulting Engineers in May 2026.

The study is designed to evaluate options for safely and environmentally responsibly moving high-value concentrates to global markets while meeting the operational requirements of the port and the expectations of the local community. The work is scheduled for completion in September 2026.

The port logistics assessment forms part of wider preparations to bring the former Minto copper-gold-silver mine back into production. Selkirk Copper controls 26,850 hectares of prospective mineral claims across the Minto-Carmacks copper belt, centered on the former mine infrastructure.

The company is undertaking feasibility study work and updated mine plans alongside the port evaluation to support a potential restart decision targeted for early 2027.
