Sierra Nevada Gold Confirms Large Copper System With Final Phase 1 As Safra Assays
Sierra Nevada Gold has returned the remaining assay results from its maiden drilling program at the As Safra Copper-Gold Project in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, confirming a coherent copper mineralised system across an 800-metre strike length of the Central Copper Zone.
The maiden program comprised 28 reverse circulation and diamond drill holes totaling approximately 5,400 metres. Final assays from the Central Copper Zone delivered multiple high-grade intersections, highlighted by hole ASDD0009 returning 16 metres at 1.49% copper from 160 metres, including a 3-metre section at 3.62% copper from 161 metres and 2 metres at 4.95% copper from 173 metres.
Additional intercepts include hole ASDD0012 returning 9 metres at 1.83% copper from 99 metres, including 5 metres at 2.69% copper from 101 metres, alongside a deeper interval of 38 metres at 0.54% copper from 118 metres that contained 9 metres at 1.67% copper from 139 metres. Hole ASDD0005 intersected 10.7 metres at 1.52% copper from 118 metres, while reverse circulation hole ASRC0013 returned 9 metres at 1.36% copper from 51 metres and 8 metres at 1.51% copper from 74 metres.
The drilling demonstrates continuity of copper mineralisation from near surface to depth across the +800-metre strike, with the trend remaining open along strike and down dip. The broader corridor features additional systems, including a second copper system at As Safra Southeast and a separate hydrothermal breccia south of the Central Copper Zone.
Phase 1 has fundamentally changed our understanding of the scale and geological potential of As Safra. We now have a drill-confirmed large copper system, rather than simply a surface mineralisation and ancient-mining story.

To advance the project, Sierra Nevada Gold plans to commence a Phase 2 drilling program within six weeks. The upcoming campaign is targeted to comprise more than 25,000 metres of reverse circulation and diamond drilling, alongside approximately 10.5 kilometres of trenching designed to test the scale, geometry and continuity of the Central system and broader targets.
The operational progress in Saudi Arabia follows corporate steps taken earlier in the year. In March 2026, the company established its 100%-owned Saudi subsidiary to hold licenses and execute exploration programs at As Safra. To direct resources toward these Middle Eastern operations, Sierra Nevada Gold commenced a strategic review and commercialisation process in August 2026 for its exploration asset portfolio in Nevada, USA.
