Sigma Lithium Corporation has confirmed that its mining and industrial activities at the Grota do Cirilo operation in Brazil continue to operate normally following a preliminary judicial ruling concerning environmental licenses.

The company stated it has not received any formal legal communication concerning the preliminary ruling, which was reportedly issued during a judicial recess by the courts of Teofilo Otoni, located more than 300 kilometres away from the Vale do Jequitinhonha operations. Sigma Lithium maintains that the ruling was issued without due process and is inconsistent with Brazil's legal framework. The operations support 19,000 job positions and their approximately 80,000 family members.

Appropriate measures were taken during the national holiday recess, and legal defense preparations are underway to begin as soon as regular court operations resume. Sigma Lithium rejected media reports suggesting the preliminary ruling overrides its recent agreement with the Minas Gerais State Authorities.

Operations remain focused on scaling up activity to meet production targets, including delivering 240,000 tonnes of lithium oxide concentrate within twelve months and 330,000 tonnes in fiscal year 2027.

Sigma Lithium previously faced a lower court decision regarding environmental licenses and legal collateral in May 2026, which was successfully overturned by the Court of Justice of Minas Gerais state in June 2026.
