Silvercorp Boosts Environmental Spending to $3.7 Million in Fiscal 2026 Sustainability Report

Silvercorp Metals Inc. has published its annual Sustainability Report for the year ended March 31, 2026, highlighting a 46% reduction in freshwater withdrawal intensity compared to its 2020 baseline alongside increased spending on environmental protection.

During Fiscal 2026, Silvercorp invested $3.7 million in environmental protection, marking a 64% increase compared to Fiscal 2025. The company reported zero significant environmental incidents across its operations during the reporting period.

On the social and governance fronts, the report disclosed more than 25,000 hours of production safety training, representing a 34% increase over the previous year. The company also achieved a 72% local employment rate across global operations, up 10% from the prior year. Investments in local community initiatives reached $3.2 million, a 134% year-over-year increase.

Governance measures during the year included 87 compliance training sessions totaling 6,008 participations, averaging 3.28 training hours per person. Silvercorp also introduced two new corporate policies: the Waste and Emissions Management Policy and the Information Security Management Policy. The sustainability report was prepared in reference to multiple reporting frameworks, including GRI Standards, UN Sustainable Development Goals, TCFD, ICMM Tailings standards, and SASB guidelines.

Supporting its operational expansion, Silvercorp is currently advancing a 50,000 to 60,000 metre drilling program at the Tulkubash and Kyzyltash gold projects to test targets and expand the resource base.
