Sirios Intersects 2.4 g/t Gold Over 48.5m in Phase 1 Drilling at Cheechoo
Sirios Resources Inc. has reported assay results from the first five holes of Phase 1 drilling at its Cheechoo gold project in the Eeyou Istchee Baie-James region of Quebec, highlighted by an intercept of 2.40 g/t gold over 48.5 metres in drill hole CH26-326, which included a higher-grade interval of 77.65 g/t gold over 1.1 metres.

The initial assay batch covers 1,753 metres of the broader campaign and returned several notable intersections, including 1.49 g/t gold over 37.6 metres in hole CH26-326, alongside 1.16 g/t gold over 32.2 metres and 2.28 g/t gold over 10.3 metres in hole CH26-327. Visible gold was identified in eight drill holes during the program, including hole CH26-326 and seven additional holes where assay results remain pending. The company noted that disclosed interval lengths are measured along the drill holes and do not necessarily represent true thicknesses.
The Cheechoo gold project is located approximately 15 kilometres from Newmont's Éléonore mine.
To date, 33 holes totalling 13,555 metres have been completed, with four drill rigs active on site. The ongoing campaign also incorporates an onsite core analysis program utilising Élémission's ECORE Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy instrument to scan 24,299 metres of core through mid-September.
“These preliminary results, which represent less than 10% of the planned drill holes, support our thesis that the resource at Cheechoo has the potential to become more significant than indicated in the 2025 resource estimate,” said Jean-Félix Lepage, CEO of Sirios. “With four active drill rigs, we anticipate completing Phase 1 in September and launching the updated resource estimate thereafter.” — Jean-Félix Lepage, CEO of Sirios
Elsewhere in the surrounding district, Fury Gold Mines reported a standout intercept of 7.01 g/t gold over 21.0 metres at its nearby Eau Claire gold project.
Following the conclusion of Phase 1 drilling in September, Sirios plans to release an updated mineral resource estimate for Cheechoo, with a preliminary economic assessment scheduled for 2027.
