Skull Ridge Gold Corp. has expanded its Newfoundland exploration footprint by acquiring 689 mineral claims covering approximately 17,225 hectares in Central Newfoundland to establish the Crippleback–Stony Lake Gold Project.

The acquisition was completed through the reimbursement of staking and related acquisition costs, securing a district-scale position within the Valentine Lake Fault Zone. The newly acquired property is strategically situated between Pirate Gold Corp.’s Crippleback Project and Benton Resources Inc.’s Stoney Caldera land position, covering the intervening structural corridor.

“The Crippleback–Stony Lake Project gives Skull Ridge a district-scale position within one of Central Newfoundland’s most active emerging gold-copper exploration corridors,” said Karim Rayani, Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Skull Ridge. “Our 17,225-hectare property is strategically positioned between Pirate Gold’s Crippleback Project and Benton Resources’ Stoney Caldera land position and covers a substantial portion of the intervening structural corridor.

“The regional opportunity extends well beyond proximity to a single discovery. Recent exploration has identified a much larger geological system containing multiple alteration and geophysical targets. Our objective is to establish whether these prospective structures, intrusive units and alteration systems continue across Skull Ridge’s property and to define new targets of our own.”

— Karim Rayani, Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

The regional geological setting comprises multiphase intrusive rocks, felsic to mafic volcanic units, and major fault structures associated with the Crippleback Intrusive Suite. While recent exploration by Pirate Gold Corp. reported a grassroots copper-gold discovery at its Treasure Island project within the surrounding district, Skull Ridge’s geological interpretations for its own newly acquired claims have not yet been confirmed through direct exploration.

Skull Ridge intends to execute an initial compilation and targeting program to evaluate the property. Planned work includes reviewing historical exploration and government geoscience data, interpreting regional magnetic and electromagnetic surveys, mapping geology and structures, and conducting systematic geochemical sampling and spectral analysis.

The company’s flagship asset remains the Skull Island Gold-Silver Project, which comprises approximately 145 square kilometres of contiguous mineral claims on the Burin Peninsula of Newfoundland and Labrador. Skull Ridge operated under the name Carmanah Minerals Corp. prior to completing a corporate rebranding and name change in April 2026.
