Snowline Gold Publishes 2025 Sustainability Report and Appoints Site General Manager
Snowline Gold Corp. (TSX: SGD) has released its 2025 Sustainability Report, providing an overview of its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices as it transitions its Rogue project toward development. The report outlines the company’s ongoing efforts to manage the environmental impact of its exploration activities, including the expansion of baseline studies required for future permitting. Beyond environmental monitoring, the company reported significant economic engagement with local partners, detailing $33 million in Yukon-based expenditures, of which approximately $30 million was directed to contractors affiliated with Yukon First Nations.
"Since our launch in 2021, building a sustainable resource business has been the heart of our strategy. I am encouraged by the progress we’ve made over the last five years on many fronts, including high environmental standards and positive community impact, through partnerships with local and Indigenous-owned businesses and through support of key functions"
The report also highlights operational initiatives such as a third-party audit of health and safety systems and a commitment to progressive land reclamation. For the third consecutive year, the company received the Robert E. Leckie Award from the Government of Yukon, which recognizes responsible exploration and mining practices.
"Our 2025 Sustainability Report offers a look inside our company, our projects, and the progress we have made to date in our efforts to set a high standard for responsible exploration and mineral development in the Yukon."
— Scott Berdahl, CEO & Director
In tandem with the report, the company announced the appointment of Clinton Wakefield as Site General Manager for its Yukon project portfolio. Wakefield brings experience from large-scale, remote operations, most recently managing the transition from exploration to full construction at B2Gold Corp.’s Goose project in Nunavut. His hire signals the company’s intent to build the internal leadership capacity necessary for its shift from exploration to development.
Advancing the Valley gold deposit remains the primary objective for the company. The current focus involves balancing field operations with the requirements of the ongoing permitting process. By strengthening project leadership and solidifying its ESG framework, the company aims to maintain its development trajectory. As the company moves toward these milestones, management expects its focus on sustainable exploration and local partnerships to provide a foundation for its continued growth in the Yukon. The appointment of a dedicated site lead reflects the company's commitment to scaling its operational capacity, ensuring that its field activities remain both efficient and compliant with increasingly stringent industry standards. With a clear focus on the development phase, Snowline continues to refine its strategy for the successful advancement of its flagship gold asset while expanding its baseline environmental programs to navigate the regulatory requirements ahead.
