Spark Energy Minerals Inc. has commenced reconnaissance exploration focused on tungsten at its Seridó Project in Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil.

The project comprises twelve exploration permits covering 21,492.74 hectares across five regional target areas that were granted in 2023 and 2024. The ground is held through the company's wholly-owned subsidiary Spark Energy Minerais do Brasil Ltda. Field teams are currently mapping marble and calc-silicate horizons and collecting rock-chip and stream-sediment samples.

“Tungsten has become a strategic metal, and the world is looking for supply outside China,” said Dr. Fernando Tallarico, Chief Executive Officer of Spark Energy Minerals Inc. “The Seridó district of Rio Grande do Norte has produced scheelite for more than eighty years and hosts the largest scheelite mine in South America. Spark secured 21,500 hectares on the rocks that host those mines before tungsten prices took off, and our geologists are now in the field. Tungsten adds a third critical mineral to Spark's portfolio, alongside gallium and rare earths at Arapaima, in a district with a proven record.”

The current field program follows regional activity across the broader jurisdiction, where high-grade rock chip sampling results of up to 1.53% WO₃ were reported at the Paraíba tungsten project.

Spark expects the first analytical results from the reconnaissance program before the end of the year. Shares are currently trading at $0.04, down 11.11%.
